Im thinking about how many years ago I stood in the middle of the street. I imagined I was all alone in the dark, a feeling came over me that I cant describe, and I felt at ease, and how one day I stood alone on these tracks that ran under a freeway. I would gaze down the tracks and toward the sky. My mind would be blank and I could only feel the sun on my face and the wind in my hair. The sky was such a deep orange I had to lay down, my legs were weak. I could imagine i was in a cartoon, waiting for the world to end. In the fall i could wrap up in a blanket and lay in the tall grass all alone for hours and hours. I would wake up and it would be dark. The fireflies danced. The look of fireflies lighting up the darkness like tiny beams of hope inspires me. I fall asleep again and dont leave until the morning, wet with dew.
